EDUCATING, CONNECTING and SUPPORTING LGBTQ+ FAMILIES
As part of our free 'Lunch and Learn' Support Series during the COVID-19 pandemic, we're offering an important discussion on Body Image and Eating Disorders especially as it relates to the LGBTQ+ community.
First Segment: We will focus on issues that adolescents (especially gender variant) face when confronting body image and disordered eating. Here, you'll gain a better understanding of some of the underlying causes and how parents can help address some of these concerns.
Second Segment: Here we will discuss eating disorders and body image in the adult LGBTQ+ community - including appearance concerns, gender dysphoria, and menstruation. We will cover lesbian and bisexual women, gay men, bears, transgender populations, people of color and many more.
We will wrap with ways to promote a healthy body image.
